Field Trips

The Hellgate Mineral Society tries to conduct at least one field trip per month during May, June, July, August, and September of each year. (Please note that we have had occasions when we have had two or more field trips in a given month.) A field trip is led by one or more members of our organizaton who are familiar with the field trip location and the mineral(s) and/or gem(s) that can be found there. 

As a reminder, field trip locations are in the “wild” and can have hazards and risks associated with them, ranging from cuts and scrapes to encounters with mammals, reptiles, and insects, and so on. Being properly informed and properly prepared can minimize these possible “dangers” and make for an enjoyable and educational experience.
