Membership is open to all individuals who enjoy rocks, gems, minerals and fossils. Annual dues are $10.00 for an individual and $19.00 for a family.
Our members receive the Hellgate Breezes, which is our newsletter, to keep members up to date on our activities and entertained with a variety of articles.
Joining our Society also includes membership in the following organizations: the Montana Council of Rocks and Minerals, the Northwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
Education
Our members have the chance to learn through presentations and from one another. There are learning opportunities available in faceting, cabbing, silversmithing, jewelry making, mine history, specimen collection and geology.
The Society has a small library, housed in a member’s home, but available to all members. The library contains books, booklets, pamphlets, video tapes and DVDs. Members are allowed to check out these materials. The topics include minerals, gems, fossils and geology as well as lapidary work.
