Each year the Hellgate Mineral Society hosts a Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show that is open to the general public. Admission is $5.00 per adult, and children under 14 are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. Each adult admission includes an entry in our hourly door prize give-away of one of the items provided by the commerical dealers participating in the show.

The Hellgate Mineral Society provides a club table hosted by club members. The members provide information about our club and its activities, such as rock hounding field trips and rock tumbling. The club table includes a display of numerous rock, mineral and gem specimens collected by club members. We also display tools used in collecting specimens, and books and pamphlets on where to collect specimens in and around Montana, as well as Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.

Each year’s show includes commercial dealers, club-member display cases, and demonstrations and activities for adults and young people. Activities can include silent auctions, gold panning, silver smithing, a kids’ mineral dig, geode cracking, and Spin-to-Win (a favorite of young and old alike, where you have the opportunity to win one of many gem and mineral specimens).
